I could care less what the microsoft's EULA agreement says. If I'm able to install it I could care less if it is illegal. As long as it is only on one computer then I'm doing it. And they wonder why people pirate their software...

There won't be iPhone 5!
It will be the launch of the White iPhone 4 to fall in line with the White iPad 2!
With an A5 chip and called the iPhone 4S! That's it ready for iOS 5 then we'll see the major spec bump next year! (iphone5)
iPad 2 got bad cams because of the thinness bull if they stick an 8mp cam in the new iPhone in a few months I'll be **** as they could of stuck the 5mp ones in iPad 2 and fattened it up 1mm!

That may be, but could the new prices also be from a recent deal between Amazon and the content providers? Can't agreements be changed after a specified time? Also, what Amazon is selling is not the same as what Apple sells. The music is the same, but the format and delivery options are different; with Apple it is in AAC that can be converted to MP3, whereas Amazon sells just the MP3.
Sure, there are a number of reasons why Apple is offering product X at price Y and Amazon is offering product X at price Z. The only reason to start calling it collusion or saying the DoJ should look into it is if you irrationally hate every company that isn't Apple.

well done.
it is macrumors, after all.I enjoy idle speculation about this stuff as much as the next guy but I still think the old 'everyone is entitled to his own opinion, but not his own facts' thing should probably be adhered to (and I hope that doesn't come across as snarky to the original poster, and apologies to him/her for [citation needed]ing if it turns out I was wrong).
Widgets and personalization - not needed. Only nerd losers stare at their OS, being unable to find any better way to spend their pathetic empty life with no purpose.Waiting for you to change the tone when Apple comes out with widgets and custom personalization. You sound like I am against it.Can we take that as an admission that you're a nerd loser who is unable to find any better way to spend his pathetic empty life with no purpose? :D
If you are, don't worry, we all post here too...
I couldn't quite tell if your post was serious given how you followed up on it, but I think having better notifications and making better use of the home screen might be quite high priorities from a user-experience point of view. Wouldn't it be helpful to see a Gmail-style snippet of your new emails visible when you unlock your phone? Or possibly a small calendar display so you can see at a glance that there's a meeting you're booked into later? I guess it might be difficult to integrate these things without dramatically reducing the space visible for apps but I can imagine a lot of people having a use for this kind of functionality and Apple is denying people the choice at the moment.
I still don't quite understand why people are so averse to the idea of a visible file system, as though this means you're going to have to poke around in a directory structure to find a note in Notes, or a song in the iPod or somesuch. It's adding functionality for those who want to use it, not complicating things for people who don't want to use that side of things. I'm sure Apple has the engineering talent to do it.

Entitlement? No offense as many feel the same way. I just don't understand how some can realistically expect such a product/service to be free for how new it is.
Entitlement? Nope. The remark was mostly tongue-in-cheek. I personally couldn't care less. I'm probably gonna try it out (if there's a free trial) and dump it later because I have no real need (or even want) for a cloud streaming service. Spotify has been sitting in my dock un-launched for about a year now.
I bet you're one of the users who has over 50GB of music too, right?
Sorry everything isn't free. If $20/Year is "too much" for some, maybe you guys should rethink having the internet or a cell phone as well.
Wrong. Actually just a tenth of that at 5GB. Internet/Cellphone = Basic essential amenities...and even there i don't pay much. On the other hand, cloud streaming service =! Essential. For me anyway.

So we have...
-A few porn stars
-A Ferrari
-A briefcase of cocaine
-Excessive alcohol consumption
-A $30,000 check to a porn star
...how is this any different than 'Two and a Half Men'?
I love this man.

<So, there you have it a completely enclosed ipod, so elegant as not to have a single button or port opening or anything but a beautiful screen.>
I think there is a hole in this argument/dream. Apple has spent considerable time and marketing money in the Made for iPod campaign that centers arounds the dock connector. They have created the Universal dock and inserts for all recent iPods, promising to keep these updated with all new iPods in the foreseeable future. Therefore, I seriously doubt these new no touch iPods wouldn't have at least a dock connector. It allows third parties to keep their investment in accessories without getting pissed at Apple for changing the rules again. How about all these car interfaces that are just now gaining traction in new automobiles for example? They need the dock connector to work. Without the third party economy and proprietary ports, there is also little to keep the MS Menace at bay, despite the coolness of such a product.
Bottom Line: there WILL be a regular dock connector for the foreseeable future on all iPods except the shuffle (which is on it's way out).
oh thank you for the answers, oh great enlightened one

How can it be TFT and IPS?!! That makes no sense quite honestly... Pish Posh...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TFT_LCD
IPS is a type of TFT screen. Just like TN (what you're thinking of) is a type of TFT screen.

Of course they would charge -- is anyone surprised by this?
If you copy your actual files to the cloud (a la iDisk or Amazon Cloud Drive), then no additional licensing is required (no matter what the labels say). If Apple wants to keep master files in the cloud, and have you verify you own a copy so you can have streaming access to that file -- that requires new licenses.
Licenses aren't made out of peaches and puppies. They cost money. If you want to argue Apple should eat the costs, out of the goodness of their hearts, well go ahead and argue that in crazyland.
Now, Apple COULD use this as a value-add to a structured MobileMe service. Even if they do, I imagine they'd have a separate music-only fee for those who don't want e-mail/iDisk etc.
This could even pave the way to a subscription model -- if Apple has every song in the cloud anyway, and they've gotten streaming licenses, I imagine it wouldn't be tough to start a Napster/Rhapsody style subscription plan.

NO one uses iChat because no one uses AIM. Its all crappy MSN!
Around here AIM is all anyone uses...
It's starting to look really interesting. I'm extremely happy that Time Machine is optional... I don't delete anything unless I'm sure I won't need it. And, I back up my home folder to my server about every week, and I keep it for about a month and then delete it.
I also hope that there's different themes... like brushed metal, soft metal, aqua, etc.

I guessing you been living under a rock.. Because my Truck CD Player plays AAC, PS3, Xbox360, PSP, DSi, 3DS, my wife and daughter's Android phone all play AAC.. The list can go on... Google is your friend....
So because YOUR head unit plays AAC so that means he's living under a rock and has no point?
I bought a JVC head unit about two years ago that had front-panel USB and iPod support and despite not being listed with WMA and MP3 on the faceplate it supported AAC. But even so, it did not support VBR AAC from USB thumb drives or CDs (iPod stuff was just passed through, so it didn't count). Thus, if I used my 256kbps AAC without VBR (my entire CD library was already converted to that), everything would be fine, but if I used a stock purchased AAC track from the iTunes store (which is 256 VBR), it would NOT play (MP3 VBR was supported, though). How many head units support Apple Lossless right now? How many advertise AAC support even when they have it (my new WRX plays AAC from the factory, but they don't exactly advertise it).
So while support has increased, especially since Apple finally ditched the DRM on music, there's no guarantee on every piece of equipment out there whereas MP3 is pretty much guaranteed to be everywhere and you can even buy used gear and it will still work.

Since I couldn't find it posted yet: not only does the 15" model come with 1 GB standard now, it's also in an 'upgrade friendly' way: 1 x 1 GB instead of 2 x 512. So, if you want to upgrade your memory later, you can do it fully and are not stuck with an extra module.
I've currently got a single 1GB stick in a three year old PB - will that be OK to swap into a new MBP?

WELL SAID WMK!!! - I most agree with the fact that the RETARID amount of money bush has spent has caused the decline in faith of the dollar!
I'd also like to add that Apple is by no means the biggest loser in this current stock slide and will come back. google lost $200 a share! so, they'll all come back it's all about confidence in the US not what was released at MW.
Actually... they almost are. Your GOOG comparison is a bit off. If you look at the highs and lows in the last three months of both goog and aapl, you will notice that AAPL dropped ~35% from its high of 200 and GOOG dropped ~27% from its high of 741. VMW took a huge hit yesterday, but it was ~33% and its already climbing back up today.
For the record, I am long AAPL, but I'd have to say it has been one of biggest, if not the biggest, large cap tech loser. But I'm gonna hold on.

Precisely! Do you read the books too? I would assume so, hehe
You would assume correctly. :)
It is a very good series. However, I do not have covers for them. :D
